Spanish placement test
You choose one of the three levels of Spanish training:
- Beginner: Spanish 0 is for students with no or very little knowledge of Spanish.
- Intermediate: Spanish 1 is for students with a basic understanding of the language.
- Advanced: Spanish 2 is for advanced students.
We encourage you to take our placement test. This will give you a better understanding of the different levels and your own abilities. If you have no knowledge of Spanish, you should choose Spanish 0, and there is no need for you to take the test. If you know some Spanish and score below 50%, you should also choose Spanish 0. If you have a score of 50% or more you may choose Spanish 1. To study Spanish 2 your test score should be 70% or above.
Whatever you choose it is a great idea to learn more Spanish before the program begins. We no longer offer pre-courses before the semester. But you can study Spanish on your own, online, or on an evening course before the semester begins.
We are happy to advise you if you are unsure about your choice of level. You will be be given a diagnostic test again in Argentina/Nicaragua to help make sure that you end up studying at the right level.
