"Helping students navigate the complexities of development challenges is incredibly inspiring"
My name is Ha My, and I am a seminar leader for the development studies 1 course in Hoi An, Vietnam.

I first joined Kulturstudier in 2016 as a student and began working as a seminar leader for the Development Studies 1 program in Hoi An in 2019.
I was born in Quang Nam Province, Central Vietnam. I have been based in Hoi An for over 12 years.
I hold a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from Da Nang University (2011) and an M.Sc. in Integrated Urban Studies from Stuttgart University, Germany (2018).

Over the past decade, I have gained extensive experience working on various projects related to sustainability and community development in Central Vietnam.
My interest in development studies stems from a deep desire to understand how human societies are constructed and how we can navigate the challenges of an ever-changing world.

For me, development studies provide a critical lens to examine complex societal issues and explore sustainable solutions that benefit both my professional work and personal growth.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working on diverse research projects, including sustainable mobility culture in Vietnam, waste management in Central Vietnam, and sustainable tourism in Hoi An. These experiences have strengthened my passion for fostering meaningful change and empowering communities at the local level.

What I enjoy most about my role as a seminar leader is the opportunity to engage with curious and motivated students from diverse cultures and backgrounds, particularly from Scandinavian countries.
Supporting their learning journey, facilitating discussions, and helping students navigate the complexities of development challenges is incredibly inspiring and rewarding!
