Studying abroad without breaking the bank
Kulturstudier is proud to offer affordable prices to make a semester abroad accessible for most students.
Our programmes are supported by Lånekassen in Norway, CSN in Sweden, and SU in Denmark.
We provide installment plans at no extra charge, offering flexibility in payment.
The tuition fee includes accommodation, as well as support and guidance both before and throughout your studies.
In Costa Rica, Vietnam, Nepal, and Ghana, lunch on teaching days is also included.
All students receive 20% discount on the tuition fee for their second semester with Kulturstudier – likewise for their third, fourth, and fifth...

Preparation and everyday expenses
The amount of pocket money required for a semester varies from person to person, but we recommend budgeting at least 1300 EUR.
Additionally, you should anticipate spending between 1300 and 1800 EUR on plane tickets, vaccines, visas, books, and insurance.
In most study locations, the cost of living is low compared to Scandinavia.
If you plan to travel after your studies, it’s wise to research the cost of living in your intended destinations to estimate the funds you will need.

Getting there
You are responsible for purchasing your own flight tickets.
Students will receive an offer for air travel from our partner. This flight departs from Oslo.
This offer is for those who wish to travel to the study country alongside other students. You also have the option to buy tickets on your own.
Kulturstudier arranges shared transportation from the airport for students who arrive as part of the group travel.

More expensive to stay home?
Though there are costs associated with studying abroad, living in large Scandinavian or other European university towns can also be quite expensive.
Many students find that their expenses are significantly lower at their international study location. Many leisure activities, for example, often cost less than in Scandinavian and other European countries.
Studying with Kulturstudier, you won't need to worry about electricity bills or internet subscriptions, as these are covered by the student housing included in the tuition fee.
Ultimately, spending a semester in Asia, Africa, or Latin-America is not necessarily more costly overall than studying in Europe.

Student loans and grants
Most Kulturstudier students are Scandinavian and receive loans and grants from either Lånekassen, CSN or SU.
It is possible to apply for student loans and grants to finance our study programmes in most European countries.
We are at present time unable to assist with application processes outside of Scandinavia.
However, we welcome students from all European countries and will be happy to assist with providing any information you may need to consider whether or not you are able to secure funding in your home country and study with us.
