Accommodation

Finding student housing abroad can often be challenging, especially if you're unfamiliar with the local language or area. Thankfully, as a student at Kulturstudier, you don't have to worry about securing accommodations—it's conveniently included in your tuition fee.

Live with other students

You will reside with fellow students, either all together in a hostel or in separate houses.

Our priority is for every student to feel secure and comfortable in the student housing, and we have established house rules to promote harmonious cohabitation.

Please note that accommodations may change from semester to semester. All students will receive updated information well in advance of the start of their studies.

Live in authentic and safe surroundings

When choosing accommodations for students, we prioritize safety and proximity to both the city center and the university campus.

Our student housing typically maintains a high standard relative to local conditions, but keep in mind that many things will differ from what you're accustomed to at home.

Living and studying in another country requires preparation for diverse experiences and may challenge your usual comforts.

The daily rhythm of the neighborhood might surprise you, you may encounter visits from various insects, and you could become unexpectedly fond of cold showers. Fortunately, you'll adapt quickly.

Argentina, Ghana, and Nepal

In Argentina, Ghana, and Nepal, Kulturstudier students reside in a centrally located hostel, creating a lively community atmosphere.

These hostels offer nice common areas and kitchens, ideal for cooking and socializing together.

You will share a room with between one and three other students. Every room comes with a private bathroom.

Vietnam and Costa Rica

In both Hoi An and San Isidro, students are accommodated in various villas or apartments situated near the campus and downtown areas.

Usually, each residence houses 6 to 10 students, with rooms shared between one to two roommates. Bathrooms are typically shared among two to four residents.

In Da Nang, Business Managament students reside in apartments conveniently located near the campus.

In Quepos, students enjoy living in "Cabinas", a set of small apartments located right by the beach and within walking distance of Manuel Antonio National Park, offering a unique and picturesque living experience.

Flexibility for those who need it

As a general room you will share a room with one, two, or three other students.

You may choose a single room for an additional fee.

If you wish, you may choose to arrange your own accommodation, and you will then be eligible for a discount on your tuition fee.

We can offer guidance on recommended areas and rental websites to consider if you wish to arrange accommodation instead of staying with Kulturstudier, but please note that you will be responsible for managing potential issues or conflicts with your landlord.

Host families: local immersion

Staying with a local host family through a homestay programme offers a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and enhance your language skills.

For Spanish students in Costa Rica, a 5-week homestay is included in the program.

If you wish to stay with a host family for the entire 16-week period, please reach out to us for additional information.

If you are studying Global Environmental Studies in Costa Rica or Spanish in Argentina, you have the option to stay with a host family for a few weeks at an extra cost. Please contact us for more details and a price estimate.
