What should I pack for Costa Rica?
First and foremost: pack as light as possible!
Remember that you are guaranteed to come across things during the semester that you will want to take with you as souvenirs and give to friends and family. You should make sure to have space in your luggage to bring home memories from your time in Costa Rica.

Clothes
Pack clothes suitable for a tropical climate, but make sure to include some long-sleeved tops for the evenings and to avoid mosquito bites.
In San Isidro and Quepos, the rainy season lasts from May to November, with drier conditions from December to April. Pack a light rain jacket and footwear that can withstand rain.
This is especially true in the fall, but no matter which semester you travel, you should have a pair of rubber boots that you need for fieldwork. Bring an umbrella.
If you want to go hiking, you should pack clothes that are suitable for it.

You should bring a cap or sunhat to protect yourself from the sun. You will probably wear sandals, flip-flops, or other light shoes in the heat.
Bring a pair of wool socks for cooler nights, hiking, and excursions.
Toiletries
You can find most toiletries in San Isidro and Quepos. Bring any prescription medication you need.
Du bør ta med nok solkrem hjemmefra til hele oppholdet. Solkremer i Costa Rica har ikke alltid god nok kvalitet. Kjøp en solkrem som er "reef-safe" for å unngå å skade livet i korallrevene når du bader.
Bring or buy mosquito spray or cream. You should use this every evening.
You can buy shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and so on in Quepos and San Isidro.
Ta med ørepropper hvis du sover lett.

Annet
Du trenger ikke å ta med vanlige håndklær, men du bør ta med et badehåndkle.
Du kan kjøpe papir, penner, stiftemaskiner, og så videre i Quepos og San Isidro.
Ta med en laptop og pensumbøkene dine.
