Cham Island is an island just off Hoi An, and it takes about 30 minutes by boat from the mainland to the island. The island is known for its beautiful beaches, and many people also go there to dive or snorkel.

We arrived in the morning, to then check into either a homestay or a hostel. Most tourists who come only stay from the morning and leave in the afternoon. This meant that we had almost the entire island to ourselves.

Among those of us who went, many chose to take a boat trip and snorkel. It was a very nice experience, and the water was absolutely amazing. We stopped at some small villages on the other side of the island, as well as going to beaches where there were no other people.

Here we snorkeled and we swam to the beach and found many beautiful shells. The weather was also nothing to complain about, with sunshine and pleasant temperatures throughout the day.

After this, I and some others went on a motorcycle ride, where we sat on the back of the motorcycles of some locals, to see more of the area. It was an amazing view, and we also got to see monkeys that lived in the forest at the top of the island.

In the evening, we gathered for dinner at a local restaurant, and here we also ended up singing karaoke with some of the other guests who were there. It was a good mix of both Norwegian and Vietnamese songs, and everyone left there in quite a good mood.

The day after, we didn't have much time to do a lot, but we managed to make a quick trip to one of the beaches for one last swim and some sunbathing. After that, the boat went back to Hoi An.

It was very nice to be able to really relax for a weekend before the group project and exam period started in earnest, and this is definitely something worth experiencing for those who travel to Vietnam!
